Truck 918
As of this date, we have been unsuccessful in locating the source of the problem regarding missing packages that were shipped on truck 918. As stated in our last newsletter, we immediately prepared to reship all missing gift packs upon notification of the problem. The last of these packs went out on January 8th. We thoroughly regret any inconvenience this setback has caused you and your customers.
Deluxe Orders
It was brought to our attention after the first of the year that our supplier of coconut patties had closed their manufacturing plant while transitioning to a new location. Because of this, they were unable to deliver our orders of coconut patties in a timely manner. A few gift packs that called for deluxe items were delayed in shipping; while a few others given substitute citrus fruit squares for coconut patties. Our vendor is now settled in their new home and we have received all outstanding orders of coconut patties.
Navels, Tangerines, Apples/Pears
The last day to submit orders for Navels, Tangerines, and Apple & Pear packs is Sunday, January 18th. Please have all orders for these varieties into the packing house by 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
White grapefruit is unavailable until further notice.
Order Tracking
Our tracking program is once again up and running. The delivery scan notations are current, but do not contain detailed information. We have informed our software supplier that this is unacceptable and we are working to have more detail listed within the scan. We once again encourage you to utilize this program as it is available 24/7.
Replacement Packs
In January, a new policy was implemented regarding replacement packs. From this point forward, all requests for replacement packs will be addressed before all new orders. This simply means that replacement packs will be moved to the “front of the line”. In the past, replacement orders had a tendency to get caught up in the backlog of honeybells and were delayed. This new policy should ensure that your replacement orders will get out in a more timely manner.
We were able to execute this new policy because of our efficiency in pushing through the backlog of Honeybell orders a full five days sooner than last year. This is due in part to the hard work and dedication of our packing supervisor, Jeanne Hardin, and her staff, as well as to new methods of production scheduling implemented at the start of the season.
