News From the Packinghouse

We are now several weeks into the new season and we’re pleased to report that everything is running smoothly.   The quality and grade of the fruit harvested this year is as good as last.

 

USDA State Restrictions

By now, you are all aware that the USDA has lifted the shipping restrictions to all quarantine states.  Although this is true, the individual states still hold restrictions that we are not able to accommodate this late in the season.  Therefore, our shipping to all previously restricted states will be handled the same as last year.  Zip codes for all special points (areas of limited delivery) will be provided upon request.  Feel free to contact our customer service department at 800-949-9074. 

 

We encourage you utilize the “Lone Star” program for any customers interested in shipping to restricted states.  This program has proven to be a success and we are pleased so many of you were able to offer it to your customers last year. 

 

Christmas Orders

There is still plenty of time to forward your Christmas orders.  The following is a list of the “last dates” that orders need to be into the packinghouse: 

 

Shipments to Canada –

Shipments to the Far West and Midwest –

Shipments to the East Coast –

Shipments to Special Points –

 

Additionally, the last date to place citrus orders through the “Lone Star” program is 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15th.  There will be no future shipments of citrus to Texas, California, and Arizona after this date. 

 

Post Card Programs -

The Honeybell announcement post cards will be mailed beginning December 13th through December 21th.   This will inform the recipient that a loved one has ordered a gift of Honeybells as a Christmas gift, and that it will be delivered during Honeybell Season. 

 

Please don’t forget about our “It’s not too late for Christmas” program as well.  We ask that you encourage your customers to place orders for Christmas gifts even after the cut-off dates.  Inform them that a postcard will be forwarded to the recipient explaining that a gift is coming and will be delivered sometime during the holidays.  These particular post cards will be mailed beginning December 17th. 

 

Expedite Program

We also offer an “Express Saver” program that will ship your package on a 2-3 business day delivery for an additional charge.  Please contact our Customer Service Department for pricing.  All “Express Saver” orders must be into the packinghouse by 5:00 pm the day prior to the requested ship date.  We request you contact our Customer Service department the following morning to confirm we have received the order.

 

Tracking of Gift Orders –

We have received positive feedback on the order tracking program and are pleased to offer this 24/7 tracking capability to our customers.   If you haven’t had an opportunity to use this function yet, we encourage you to check it out at www.gspacking.com.  Please be advised that you will need to enter your 6 digit account number followed by the 8 digit order number and the 3 digit suffix, excluding spaces and dashes.   This service is available to our retail customers and we ask that you not provide it to your individual buyers.  There is a fee for each tracking which G&S will cover.    

 

Customer Service Department Hours –

The Customer Service Department will continue to be available to take your calls Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday; 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

New Honeybell Flier
