News from the Packing House

We are pleased to report that we have been spared during recent freezes.  The majority of our contracted groves are located in the southern part of Florida and inspection of these groves confirms that the fruit made it through unscathed. 

 

Honeybells

The honeybell crop matured late this year and the fruit was still green on the tree at the end of December.  Therefore, to ensure quality, we held off harvesting until the fruit was ripe and ready for shipping.   It is our guarantee to ship quality citrus and we appreciate your understanding regarding this issue.

 

Navels

Effective immediately, Navel oranges are done with the exception of replacements. 

 

Tangerines and Apples & Pears

This is the last week for Tangerine and Apple & Pear orders.  Please have your final orders for these varieties into our packing house by 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 15th. 

 

Tracking of Gift Orders

Just a reminder that the tracking program on G&S’ website is available 24/7.  We encourage you to use this function if you haven’t done so already.  Simply go to www.gspacking.com and click on Tracking.  Please be advised that you will need to enter your 6 digit account number followed by the 8 digit order number and the 3 digit suffix, excluding spaces and dashes.   This service is available to our retail customers and we ask that you not provide it to your individual buyers.  There is a fee for each tracking transaction, which G&S will cover.    

 

Florida Grove Crate

Just a reminder that gift packs 19 and 19D (Grove Crate) will not be available for the remainder of this season.  This was due to the tremendous response for these gift packs and the huge lead time required to order the wooden crates from our vendor.     

 

 

Tri-Fold Advertising mailer

We are currently working on the next advertising mailer that will be ready for spring distribution.  We are excited to offer these mailings to our customers at the same cost of a postcard.  Details of the specials advertised in this mailer will be forwarded to you shortly.
