Phillip Barton Key Scales, III

June 29, 1940 – March 17, 2009

 

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the unexpected death of Key Scales, III.  Key died Tuesday, March 17th, at his residence.  A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 24th, and the family has designated the following charity for contributions in Key’s name:

Key’s accomplishments in the citrus industry are numerous and he was instrumental in establishing the way in which many of us still do business today.   Key held the title of President of G&S Packing Company for many years before retiring to his preserve in Palatka.  He will be sorely missed!

 

 

 

Advertising Rebate Program

You were previously informed that all qualifying advertising material, receipts, etc., must be sent to us no later than April 15th.  Please be advised that this date has been extended to May 1st.

Ann Watterson has requested that you please forward any address corrections you may have received this past season from your individual Gift List.  Our Data Entry department will soon begin maintenance on these lists.

If you close your doors through the summer months, please contact our customer service department with alternate contact numbers; such as phone, fax, etc.   In addition, please also provide an email address if you currently have one available. 

 

Summer Program

As you are aware, our team is actively working on reinstating a Summer program.  We are looking to bring in produce such as Mangos, Avocados, Ponderosa Lemons, Tomatoes, Onions and Pomelo grapefruit.   Once we have determined the exact produce and packs, style numbers and pricing will be forwarded.    

 

We are pleased to report that the popular style 3S is coming back.  With the purchase of two trays of mixed citrus, the customer will receive a free tray of grapefruit.  The price point for this will be the same as your seasonal #2 gift pack. 

 

We anticipate launching our summer program in May.  The available citrus packs throughout the summer months are as follows:

#3S PACK

 

G&S Packing Company has enacted our own stimulus package by keeping all pricing for the summer citrus packs the same as your 2008-2009 seasonal pricing.    

 

Available Varieties

Valencia Oranges

Red Grapefruit – as long as they remain wholesome.

Murcotts – for at least another week.  We will notify you if this variety can be extended. 

 

Good Friday

Please be advised that our offices will be closed Friday, April 10th in observance of Good Friday.
